How to remove PocketCloud Windows Companion

On Windows XP machines:

      1. Click Start
      2. Click Control Panel
      3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
      4. In the Currently installed programs box, scroll down until you find “PocketCloud Windows Companion”
      5. Click the program, and then click Remove
      6. If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click “Yes”
      7. Removal Complete, you can close the Control Panel.

On Windows Vista machines:

      1. Click Start
      2. Click Control Panel
      3. Click Programs. If not present, go to step 4
      4. Click Programs and Features
      5. Scroll down until you find “PocketCloud Windows Companion”
      6. Select the program
      7. Click Uninstall
      8. If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click “Yes”
      9. Removal Complete, you can close the Control Panel.

On Windows 7 machines:

      1. Click Start
      2. Click Control Panel
      3. Click Programs. If not present, go to step 4
      4. Click Programs and Features
      5. Scroll down until you find “PocketCloud Windows Companion”
      6. Select the program,
      7. Right-Click and select Uninstall
      8. Enter the appropriate information if asked for and Admin username/password and if you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click “Yes”
      9. Removal Complete, you can close the Control Panel.

 If you still cannot remove the product, verify that the service has been stopped by going to the Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services and open the "Services (Local)" and make sure that the following services are stopped:

  • Wyse PocketCloud
  • Wyse Remote Access

Note that the Wyse Remote Access service will only show if you have the PocketCloud Windows Companion version 2.5.13 or above. Once the services are stooped, try the uninstall process again.
