This can occur when you have both PocketCloud and PocketCloud Pro installed on your device.
This occurs on Home editions of Windows when you are connected using the "view-only" password.
I have a Mac also running OS 10.6 and when I go to screen sharing and try to check it it won't let me. It also say that the screen is being controlled by remote management. And pocket cloud does nothing when I hit sign out. Do I need to uninstall?
Hi Paul - You can go ahead and uncheck Remote Management and then check Screen Sharing. What do you mean PocketCloud does nothing when you sign out? Are you getting a certain error message when you try to connect from your mobile device?
I don't see tight vnc on my start menu. I see my computer on my phone but I can't connect.
Hi Keena, what version of Windows are you running? What error message are you receiving when you try to connect? Have you installed the PocketCloud Companion on your desktop?
I have the same problem ... I can see the screen but can't click on anything or interact with it. Mac OSX 10.6.7 ... iOS 5 (I'm a developer) In System Preferences under sharing I have just Screen Sharing checked. Computer settings is set to "VNC Viewers may control screen with password" and "Allow Access for:" is set to all users. Any ideas?

What is checked in Apple > System Preferences > Sharing? Do you have any 3rd party VNC servers running on your iMac like Vine Server?
Yes, your computer will have to remain powered on in order to access it while you are away. You can have the display turn off but not the computer.
To Steve ... I exited the app on my mac and killed the app on my iPhone then restarted everything and it worked ... might have done a reboot in there as well (old PC habits die hard). But it did eventually work ... and it is cool!!! And yes it I don't think it will wake up when sleeping. There is a check box to stop the mac from going to sleep.

Chris.. unfortunately i am on an Imac and im not aware of a way i can turn the screen off but i am going to look into that as i really dont want to leave it on for 2 weeks while i am away
Matt.. what you suggested worked just fine, i killed the app on my ipad and all was well
The app crashed 5 mins into my connection though and i found it really difficult to scroll anything... could just be that i am not used to it.. will have another go tonight

Hey Steve - There should be a way to do that in Apple > System Preferences > Energy Saver.

Hi , I am having the same problem when I try and click on something. I just get this 'blip' sound and nothing happens. Appreciate any help here.
I've installed the client on my MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7 (Lion). Last night my HTC Thunderbolt allowed me to connect to my laptop, but I couldnt type in my password at the log in screen to be able to access my desktop. I typed the keys on my phone, but nothing changed and it acted as if the keyboard just wasn't responding....This morning when I tried connecting, it stays at the "Connecting..." screen for over 10 minutes and does not change. Any ideas?

Ah, I see. I figured the new OS had something to do with it. Thanks! Will there be an announcement anywhere when that build is released or should I just keep checking for updates in the Market?

I am able to connect to my Windows 7 desktop (ethernet) without a problem through my Acer Tablet. But I have a laptop running Windows Vista Home that just won't connect. (2Wire Router). They are both on the same network and all my log in info is correct. My laptop shows up as available but when I click it and log in it just sits on a black screen that says connecting but never actually connects. I've read through a lot of the blogs and tried several things but can't get it to work, any ideas?
Clayton - Do you get any error message when connecting, or just a black screen? When you see the black screen can you tap on it and see if your desktop appears?
Chris-I just see a black screen that says connecting..., ricing it does nothing.(Android tablet)

lol, new to the site, figured posting all where i saw would get a quicker response, i see it wasn't necessary bc the response came quickly. I've restarted both my tablet and laptop to no avail.
When you see the black screen connecting to VNC desktop just try to tap the screen several times it should bring the screen up.
If it doesn't work, can you click BACK key to disconnect from the session?

Lana, I have tried that but it still just states "Connecting..." and never connects, no error message or anything.
